Covering by coloring

These book covers kill me.

They are all Edizioni la Conchiglia, a series of books dealing exclusively with Capri matters.

The design is not typographically correct and the layout isn't really well executed but, i colori, when you run into them in any of Capri's (three?) book stores they sort of smile in your face.

Right now I'm reading Le Case raccontano. Storie e passioni nelle dimore del mito a Capri. (”Houses telling stories. Tales and passions from dwellings of myth on Capri”)

Reading is maybe not quite accurate, trying to understand would be more to the point.

Some, a few, of the Conchiglia books are in English, this one isn't and so much the better. These stories are so intriguing I have to force myself to read in Italian with my limited knowledge. That, also, kills me.

Che gioia leggere.

Tasting by looking

These cookies kill me. They are filled with delicious
hazelnut chocolate and I am almost sure they are the original Ballerina. Adding to their appeal is the name: Occhio di bue, bull's eyes.

I need to add this image to my lecture on ”the eye as a motif in art and graphic design”. Can't wait.

Owning by pretending

This house kills me. It belongs to me without knowing it.

Learning by doing

This fruit kills me.

It's so Baloo.

On Capri I learned – the hard way – that when pealing it you need to be careful so the microscopic prickles (or are they called thorns?) don't move over to your fingers.

Here I am pretending I am back in sunny Anacapri and not in gloomy Hudiksvall. Included above also subtle hints to the quizz below.

Win win

I love this image.

Can anybody, out of my thousands of followers, guess what is taking place?

(The winner gets to post a comment. Don't be rude, get in line!)
